Add a Light Fixture
Turn off the power supply to the area where the light fixture will be installed.
Determine the location and height of the new light fixture.
Install an electrical box in the ceiling or wall at the desired location of the light fixture.
Run electrical cable from the nearest power source to the electrical box.
Connect the wires from the new light fixture to the wires in the electrical box.
Mount the light fixture to the electrical box and secure it in place.
Turn on the power supply to the area where the light fixture was installed.
Test the new light fixture to ensure that it is working correctly.

Remove a Light Fixture
Turn off the power supply to the light fixture.
Remove the cover or shade of the light fixture.
Disconnect the wires from the light fixture and remove the mounting screws.
Remove the light fixture from the electrical box.
Cap the wires in the electrical box with wire nuts.
Turn on the power supply to the area where the light fixture was removed.

Replace a Light Fixture
Turn off the power supply to the light fixture.
Remove the cover or shade of the old light fixture.
Disconnect the wires from the old light fixture and remove the mounting screws.
Remove the old light fixture from the electrical box.
Install a new electrical box, if needed, and connect the wires from the new light fixture to the wires in the electrical box.
Mount the new light fixture to the electrical box and secure it in place.
Turn on the power supply to the area where the light fixture was replaced.
Test the new light fixture to ensure that it is working correctly.
